Summer Class Schedule
The ABT National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance srudents of all ages and skill levels. All summer classes are held at the Southold Studios located in the Colfax Cultural Center. Class tuition is based on a 6 week dance session. $60.00 / 45 Minute Class
Creative Dance I Course Description: A curriculum designed for young dancers that develops and encourages creative movement, nonverbal self-expression, imagination, rhythm, musicality and body awareness. Attire: Girls – All pink leotard, tights & canvas ballet shoes.
Creative Dance II Course Description: A curriculum designed for young dancers that continues to develop and encourage creative movement, nonverbal self-expression, imagination, rhythm, musicality and body awareness. Attire: Girls – All pink leotard, tights & canvas ballet shoes.
Primary I Course Description: A continuation of Creative Dance for young school-age students that also introduces ballet positions and movements. Attire: Girls – All pink leotard, tights & canvas ballet shoes.
Primary II Course Description: A continuation of Primary I, reinforcing ballet positions and movement. Attire: Girls – All pink leotard, tights & canvas ballet shoes.
Ballet I Course Description: Development of the attention span, participation, self-discipline, proper conduct in class, memory and focus for the training process. Continuing development of motor functions, flexibility, extension, jumps, etc. Concentration on placement and correct body alignment. Beginning musical consideration, such as phrasing, accents, tempo and rhythm. Development of coordination skills. Introduces dance education for mastering the placement of the body, legs, arms and head. Attire: Ladies – Black camisole or tank leotard, pink tights & pink canvas ballet shoes.
Beginning Hip Hop Course Description: A fusion of high-energy dance styles, this class is a fun, positive and energetic experience for anyone who just wants to dance! Groove to the beats of the latest songs as you warm-up and learn exciting dance routines. Attire: Ladies and Gentlemen should wear comfortable dance clothing and soft-soled dance shoes.
The drop in 10 class card is a new way to participate in Southold classes with more flexibility for your schedule. The 10 class card allows you to drop in to Southold classes at a discounted rate without signing up for the full dance session.
Adult Ballet (June 7 to July 6) Course Description: This beginning ballet class emphasize overall body conditioning and encourage an aesthetic appreciation of dance and related arts. Attire: Ladies and Gentlemen should wear comfortable dance clothing and ballet shoes.
Body Conditioning (July 6 - July 29) Tuesday 10:00AM to 11:00AM
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet (July 6 - July 29) Tuesday 11:00AM to 12:30PM |
